What sort of bars will be at Base Camp?  

There are two bars, including a wintry themed Woodcutters Bar, serving mulled wine, mulled cider, hot buttered rum, boozy hot chocolates, espresso martinis, and negronis, plus a variety of wines, beers and spirits. Non-alcoholic options include coffee, hot chocolate, alcohol-free beer and wine, and soft drinks. Please note that you cannot be under the influence of alcohol when using the ice skating rink, as per the Terms and Conditions. 

  

It's July! What sort of winter comforts can we expect? 

Base Camp will feature fire pits and gas heaters for warmth. Multiple shade structures will allow patrons to eat, drink and mingle under cover from the elements. Ample seating and tables will be available.  

  

What does Base Camp cost? 

It is free to enter Base Camp. No tickets are required to enter. Food and beverages are to be purchased at vendors and bars via card only. Ice skating and Electric Playground are both ticketed experiences within Base Camp, to be booked via the Illuminate Adelaide website.  

   

What is the age suitability of Base Camp?  

Base Camp is an all-ages event. Ice skating tickets can be purchased for patrons aged five years and up. Electric Playground is suitable for all ages.  

  

Is Base Camp cashless?  

Please note that Base Camp is a cashless event, meaning all purchases need to be made by card.  

 

What should I bring to Base Camp? 

Warm clothing – while some areas are undercover, Base Camp (besides the Electric Playground installations in The Moa tent) is an outdoor event  

Credit/debit card – all purchases are cashless  

Drink bottle – refill at our free filtered water stations  

Masks – recommended for congested areas, such as queues at bars and food vendors  

  

Are dogs permitted at Base Camp?  

Dogs are permitted in the open areas at Base Camp as long as they are well socialised, on a leash, and their owners clean up after them. They are not permitted in the skating area (rink or ice shop) or Electric Playground, with the exception of service animals.
