Illuminate Adelaide and the Government of South Australia, through the South Australian Tourism Commission, are partnering with innovative regional councils and award-winning artists to shine a light on South Australia.

Building on its success in 2021, Digital Garden once again reimagines the cultural centre of Mount Gambier with captivating installations, projections, and interactive lighting. Transforming Cave Garden/Thugi with a series of experiences from renowned local and international artists, Digital Garden will light up winter in the South East of the state.

A highlight of this project will be an interactive installation by Jen Lewin Studio titled The Pool. Merging the movements of individuals to create an overlapping and everchanging collage of light, The Pool is a giant field of concentric circles that swirl with colour when activated by touch. Inspired by Australian tidal rock pools, The Pool uses cutting edge mesh-network technology and custom code to bring this vivid and ever-changing composition to life.

Other artists include Submergence by Squidsoup and Neon Winter and I Am Here by Carla O'Brien.

Using thousands of individual points of suspended light, Submergence is an all-encompassing walkthrough experience. Vividly presenting how virtual and physical worlds collide, immerse yourself in this hybrid, atmospheric environment.

Carla O’Brien’s Neon Winter light art installations are bright enough to liven up even the greyest of South Australia's day and nights.

Vibrant and glowing bright at night, these touchable works are created with LED Neon Flex – a revolutionary new replacement for glass neon giving you an immersive 3D multicolour experience. Take a selfie with a cute Big or Baby Penguin, ‘wear’ a pair of oversized Neon Mittens or give a Big Neon Snowman a hug.

Prior to what we know as the Big Bang, on the outskirts of the galactic black hole lies the collective consciousness of every prior solar system and its design.

Seated in this 13th dimensional space are the feminine and masculine representatives of the galactic central Sun, the overarching universal creative stem, where all life is born forth via a myriad of elements, light spectrum and conscious matter governed by sacred geometry.

Welcome to the gates of all possibility outside all boundaries, time and space.

Biomorphism models artistic design elements on naturally occurring patterns or shapes reminiscent of nature and living organisms. Historically it has also been used in the context of modern art.

Thinking about the extraordinary geology of the limestone coast in South Australia, Gruchy began ruminating on Biogeology, which examines biotic and hydrologic systems in relation to each other. What also drew his attention is the study of landforms and their evolution known as Geomorphology which has been described as a Dark Art open to interpretation.

Geomorphosis-01 is a poetic interpretation of these contemplations, the long-time relations between lifeforms and the world we inhabit and the diverse cultural interpretations and understandings brought to bear.
