We’re thrilled to team up with the legendary Adelaide Central Market, an absolute icon at the heart of our city.
From 04–19 July, Illuminate will brighten up the Market with the installation Proximity State by Miles Dunne, glowing day and night during all Market hours.
Kick off your weekend with a magical experience as Melbourne’s Born in a Taxi brings their mesmerising Illuminated Angels to life! Catch their stunning roving performances on Friday 04 July and Friday 18 July from 6:30-7:30pm.
Of course, no trip to the Market is complete without delicious food and drinks. Get ready to indulge in special Illuminate-themed winter warmers from your favourite vendors! Stay tuned for more details coming soon.

Illuminated Angels by Born in a Taxi
Let there be light! Burdened with the safe-keeping of souls, these Illuminated Angels communicate only with their heart on their travels through Illuminate Adelaide. Surreal, visually stunning and playful, these floating benevolent beings bestow light and joy wherever they land.
Proximity State by Miles Dunne
Returning after his 2023 commission with Illuminate Adelaide for the Graduate Pathway Program, multidisciplinary artist Miles Dunne’s Proximity State finds a new home at the Adelaide Central Market.
Walk into the grid and see how your movement affects light and sound around you. Each path you take creates something new – come along and see what you can create.
